Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

The RIVER Organization Christian Church is dedicated to serving the poor. The short version of our Mission Statement is;
The RIVER flowing with the Living Water of Life: "Eradicating Homelessness, Feeding the Hungry, Helping the Needy and Giving to the Poor." Our Mission statement reflects who we are. We are people helping people in need. Based in Las Vegas, Nevada USA, we are a Christian-faith organization following the principles of the Holy Bible. We are missionaries of Jesus Christ.
We are a free-church spreading the Gospel and teaching the Sacred Scripture to all in need. With the Word of God and divine blessings, we are providing spiritual services and charity to the poor. The Holy Spirit guides us and comforts us as we journey through the evilness and darkness of destitution.
We are Disciples of Jesus Christ. In the name of Jesus Christ, we obey Him and do the works He commands us to do. Our works in His name require our involvement with helping and teaching the poor. Our service to Jesus Christ is our duty to the poor.
Man made poverty, not God. And man can end poverty with God's help and God's will. During our missions and ministries, we will set the standard for destitution recovery. With the Divine offering our inspiration we use the Holy Scripture to teach and preach to the poor. And with prayer we seek to make the weak strong. We are like shepherds who bring the lost, strayed and scattered flock of sheep back to our Shepherd, the Good Shepherd. In our obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ, we bring the homeless back home to Him. We are determined to strike out homelessness. Just like that!
Our Boss Is Jesus Christ

In order to make homelessness something of the past will take hard work by a team of skilled and dedicated people. You can not solve a magnificent social problem like homelessness over night. It will take years to accomplish our goals. We are in this for the long haul. Eventually we will reach our destination and see homelessness as something of the past.
The RIVER Organization has a vision of seeing that end. We believe with proper management, homelessness can be eradicated. We intend to introduce innovated and revolutionary methods to accomplish our mission.
The magnitude of the social problem of homelessness is compounded for us because of the geographical area we are located in. Las Vegas, Nevada is known as the gambling town of the world, Sin City. For the past twenty years Las Vegas has been one of the fastest growing communities in the nation. Now, with the housing and financial crisis, it is the leader in home foreclosures. Record unemployment levels prevail. We are in the second hottest desert in the world. With high crime, high unemployment and a disastrous economy, homelessness in Las Vegas has reached an all-time high and it is likely to rise.
Add the political structure in Las Vegas, an administration which is aggressively hostile toward the homeless, you find a real need for the RIVER Organization.
There are more than 15,000 homeless people in Las Vegas. More than 50,000 people experience homelessness each year in Las Vegas. Families, men, women and children. Elderly people, as old as 88, handicapped, veterans, the sick and lame are on the streets. People who simply don't belong there. Each year, the Nevada Department of Correction releases 5,000 prisoners onto the streets of Las Vegas. The inmates are given $20 and dropped off at the bus depot. What is society thinking? What alternatives do these ex-cons have other than a life on the streets until the moment of opportunity arises to commit another crime, if there is no one to help them avoid a return to the unprofitable life?
We are committed at the RIVER Organization to helping these people in need. The homeless, the hungry, the needy and the poor and all of those who are down trotted and walk in the shadows of destitution are the ones we serve.
We are Disciples of Jesus Christ. Our Lord provides the way, we provide the means.
It is He who teaches us to teach others. In the name of Jesus Christ, we shall faithfully obey and serve.
Working together with individuals and local churches, we set out to do what we can in helping the poor. While we are currently a small organization working on a shoe-string budget, we will perform simple services, primarily providing food, clothing, hygiene products, spiritual guidance, homeless services references and other outreach services. Once we grow we will add to our programs and provide more and better services.
